Tim Army Anaheim Ducks endorses KIHA youth hockey developmental program

“Doug Jones, introduced our oldest son, Derek, to inline hockey when I was an assistant coach with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the mid-1990's.

It was Derek's first foray into organized team sports. He couldn't have had a better coach than Doug for that big step. Doug is very knowledgeable and also a very good teacher. Derek was only four years old at the time, but Doug was able to connect with Derek at such a young age on Derek's level. Most importantly, he was a passionate and compassionate coach. It was a wonderful experience. Derek improved both his skill set as well as his understanding of the game. But more importantly, Doug taught Derek about the competitive side of the game in an understated way as that competitiveness is so critical as young athletes climb the ladder in sports.

Derek went on to play Division 1 college ice hockey at Providence College and professional hockey in both the ECHL, AHL, as well as one NHL exhibition game with the Nashville Predators. Today Derek is the head coach of the Wheeling Nailers, the Pittsburgh Penguins affiliate in the ECHL.

As parents, we don't believe Derek would have accomplished all that he has without Doug's influence all those years ago in the Anaheim Bullfrogs youth inline program. We recommend Doug as a coach unequivocally. To this day, we are grateful for all that Doug did for Derek when he was just a little boy being introduced to organized sports for the very first time.

Committment to KIHA - Our youth program asks that any youth participant that does sign up please make their Saturday games for the benefit of our program and it's fellow members.

Everyone Plays - Our goal is for Kids to play Inline hockey , so we mandate that every child on every team must play at least half of every game.

Balanced Teams - Each year we form teams as evenly as possible, because it is fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play.

Positive Coaching - All of our coaches are AAU background screened and encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment by the players and ultimately leads to better skilled and better motivated players.

Good Sportsmanship - We strive to create a safe, fair, fun and positive environment based on mutual respect, rather than a win at all costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of KIHA.

Player Development - We believe that all players should be able to develop their inline hockey skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team, in order to maximize their enjoyment of the game.

    Lauren Brackenridge
Thank you for all the support, Doug!
Noah had an overall great experience and our kids got along so well with the kids from Dangl Dojo. We're bummed that it's done but really enjoyed our time with everyone. Now time to show some love for the 8u and 12u this week

    Alodia Cano
Thank you for all you have done to support us, Doug! Madi had an amazing experience and wants to do it again! The Dangl Dojo team made us feel like part of the team

    Dr Shauna Mead
Thank you so much. Thank you for arranging such an opportunity.
Keylanah has recovered from the sadness of a loss... as you know she takes them hard. She also got smashed into the boards pretty hard. She is back to being pumped. She can't wait to go again! Thank you Doug!
